Tecna's history is synonymous with resistance welding in a constantly changing market and the clear demonstration of Tecna's dynamism in preparing for its future is its intention to face the current global crisis by investing and being pro-active.

Tecna has recently completed the construction of a new 9000 m2 plant that will accommodate an extensive production area and a spacious office complex on an industrial estate in Castel San Pietro Terme, just outside Bologna.

The new construction is part of an innovative project that aims not only to provide new premises but also create suitable logistic capabilities.

TECNA S.p.A., a company situated in Castel S. Pietro Terme (BO) - ITALY, has been working in the field of resistance welding since the beginning of the‘70s.
During these years it has become a well-known company specialized  in the production of a vast range of spot and projection welding machines briefly listed hereafter: 

  • spot and projection bench welding machines 16-150 kVA 
  • single-phase linear action welding machines 35-315 kVA 
  • D.C. three-phase linear action welding machines 100-630 kVA 
  • automatic air operated suspended guns with built-in transformer 16-75 kVA 
  • production spot guns medium frequency 56-140 kVA, from 16 to 45 kA 
  • rocker-arm pedestal spot welders 12-50 kVA 
  • modular spot welders: twin spot, rocker arm, linear action

Moreover, TECNA manufactures a line of products which can be considered “accessories” to the resistance welding machines:

  • adaptive and digital welding control units, with microprocessor, ammeter, constant current and standard versions 
  • test and measurement instruments for resistance welding machines 
  • balancers from 0,4 to 180 kg. 

TECNA develops on the whole all its products boasting a high quality level. All the steps from the engineering, to the production, to the sales through different channels according to the final destination of the product, are carefully followed up. The main fields of interest go from the car body repair to the industry, including automotive industry, to the metal structural works.

    PowerPlus2012

    The Power Plus introduced a new hybrid technology, comprehending energy storage and inverter, which propels us into the logic of energy saving towards which the world is evolving. The low energy absorption diluted over time combined with excellent welding quality make this technology suitable for any kind of operating locations, from small workshops to large warehouses of mechanical factories.

    With this machine, it is possible to perform medium frequency welds using current values beyond 120.000 Ampere and times up to 65 milliseconds. The machine uses a three-phase mains electrical connection through a plug of just 32 Ampere thus making it suitable also for users who can rely on a reduced installed power only. It is equipped with an electric axis with brushless motor managing the descent of the electrode and the welding force. Optionally, it can rely on remote diagnostics for servicing, maintenance, retooling, etc.

    The modular design of the machine allows to frame the layout and to size the performances up according to customers' needs.

    The union between the new fully automatic welding control unit and our 6022 machine fits perfectly into the current labour market that sees both production lots resized in the quantities and, sometimes, even less competent operators unfortunately. This new reality leads to an optimization of timings and to a search for flexibility in the various stages of production. Once the main parameters are set, the control unit on the 6022E, which is equipped with an automatic software, allows the machine to detect the thickness and type of material to be welded thus facilitating even an unskilled operator who will not have to reset the machine's welding parameters each time.

    TECNA's Control lines are synonymous of exactness and quality. From this experience and from the will to keep always up with the market necessities the new welding control unit TE850 Little Spot comes from.

    The new TE850 Little Spot can be used both in single-phase and inverter machines and can be linked through different kinds of nets allowing in this way to dynamically change the welding parameters form one welding spot to another. The connection is simple and clean with a pot interface through which set the welding parameters and a cycle starting switch (Start).

    This new card guarantees a good control during the welding process and a great suppleness use highlighting, once again, that simplicity can be synonymous of quality.

    The market is constantly evolving and TECNA not only loves to be in step with the times but is also in the forefront with its products.

    On the topic of forward-thinking, we are pleased to introduce our new 95XX line of balancers.

    The new 95XX balancers present a new safer design enabling a better cleaning thanks to the housing which is now more round-shaped and provided with less sharp edges. The steel clamp, which blocks the rope, has been replaced with a nylon one that ensures the integrity of the rope even if subjected to long work sessions. In addition, it has been added a spring that, by wrapping the damper, ensures better cushioning at the stroke end.

    In the inside, the nylon spring-drum assembly guarantees a lower wear of the same and allows not to grease the rope, thereby reducing the necessary maintenance procedures and avoiding the accumulation of dust and harmful material. Besides these changes, providing better quality and durability of the product, the safety system has been redesigned for automatic reset to simplify both use and maintenance.

    In addition to these new technical features that make our 95XX Balancers safer and easier to use, when placing the order, our customers may choose two more options which have been thought of to further protect the safety of the operator.
    The first is the Ratchet Lock or Dynamic Stop, device which allows to block the tool in any position chosen by the operator by a simple manoeuvre performed directly on the load being hung without the need to act on the manual locking system (which is though present and possibly also available with a control from the floor).
    The second is the Shock-absorbing Brake that intervenes in extreme situations. For example, should either a descent or an ascent of the load at dangerous speeds occurs, the Shock-absorbing Brake would work by reducing gradually the rope speed as far as to carry the load to a softer stop, thus ensuring the integrity of the balancer and the operator's maximum safety. The balancers of the series 95XX ensure a zero gravity balancing type on the various capacities and, thanks to the use of high quality 80 mm springs, allow the balancing of the load in each position of the stroke.
