For masters I had my eyes.
Michelangelo Antonioni

Fabio Gubellini, a mechanical engineer and head of the technical office and design department at TECNA, is
passionate about photography, an art to which he has dedicated himself, with success and public recognition, for a decade now. He makes images of industrial photography, photographic reportage of industrial archaeology, which he offers to tell stories of vanished places and jobs.

Among the masters of photography – he writes – I admire Gabriele Basilico’s capacity for aesthetic synthesis, Luigi Ghirri’s incredible gift for universalizing the particular, and the metaphysical rationality in Gabriele Croppi’s images. I also feel very close to the early photographers of the Magnum Agency; among these pioneers of photography I admire Robert Capa’s innate vocation for reportage.

Gubellini’s work expresses, in his images, the themes dear to TECNA: art, culture, environment and territory. In our virtual exhibition, which can be viewed through the gallery below, you can admire his fine shots of buildings, spaces and forms, whose grandeur, blurred by the decay of time and absence, bears witness to a recent history that is dramatically still vivid.
